The French Department is busy and vibrant. We run a number of activities throughout the year: J3 'Petit Dejeuner', J3 Modern Languages Quiz (with the Irish and Spanish Departments), S2 Primary School French Visits, S3 and 4 French Debate, S3 and 4 QUB Language Events, S2 Modern Languages Careers Talk and much more.
In 2019, our S1-4 pupils will be going on a trip to Paris. We will be taking in all the sites and attractions that Paris is famous for: Les Champs Elysées, l’Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Montmartre, Trocadéro, the Louvre Museum, the Stade de France, the Palais de Versailles and, of course, Euro Disney. A brilliant experience awaits!

French is a vital part of the curriculum. The British Council recently spoke of 'an alarming shortage of Language graduates'. Studying French is the perfect platform for further study and will open up an array of employment possibilities. Through the study of French you will learn how to: communicate better (both orally and written), analyse text, analyse and evaluate current societal trends, understand the rubrics of the English language better and much more! Studying French will give you an insight into French culture and make you a much more attractive proposition to employers in the future!
