Evin Crummie starring for Ulster Rugby

10 April 2017

S4 pupil Evin Crummie was congratulated by Principal Mr McKinney and Head of PE Mr Murray today. Armagh RFC player Evin is making great strides in the oval ball game and has been recently selected for the Ulster U19 team having graduated with flying colours from the U18 team which he represented with aplomb last summer. Evin formerly played Gaelic Football at the College and won an Ulster Colleges medal in 2012. Unfortunately for the football coaches at Violet Hill Evin had to shift his focus to rugby as the years progressed.
Evin is looking forward to the summer programme for the U19 squad which will include games against the other 3 provinces across Ireland. Evin recently played for Ulster against Japan and Georgia. The young Armagh man was taken aback by the physical presence of both of these teams and realises he has to do more in the gym to compete with this type of player going forward. Evin is from Potadown and formerly played Gaelic Football with the Ballyhegan GAA club. Both Mr McKinney and Mr Murray wished him well in his future sporting endeavours and indeed in his upcoming ALevel examinations.
