J1 pupils along with their Form teachers, Year Head Mrs Grant and Vice Principal Mr Doyle gathered in the College chapel yesterday to celebrate some of the outstanding achievements which have been accumulated so far this year. Thanks to all who took part in the Lenten themed Assembly which was contributed to beautifully by Conor Mathers and Frank McMullan who both performed for the Year group at the beginning and end of the celebration. Warrenpoint Feis Drama Section Congratulations to Conal Scullion, who won Best supporting Actor -Brendan Bradley Cup at this year’s Warrenpoint Feis. He along with his peers, Ruairi Fearon, Michael Murpgy, Liam Morgan, Ferdia Byard and Diarmuid O’Farrell performed a short comic play based on superheroes.

Laugh in the face of exams - S2 pupils really enjoy their day!

The S2 year group were treated to a fantastic day in the company of the inspirational Ben Best, from Tree of Knowledge Ireland. Ben delivered the workshop LAUGH IN THE FACE OF EXAMS which was a fun and motivational experience for all the students which should equip them to cope with exam pressures. Ben's workshop is designed to inspire self-belief, to evoke positive and productive attitudes, increase aspirations and encourage huge goals in life.

Trócaire Campaign launched by RE Department

The launch of the Annual Lenten Trócaire Campaign will take place on Monday 10th March 2014. This year we are continuing our work with Trócaire in support of St Leo’s College Lodwar. The Campaign will include a Whole School Sponsored Walk to Newry Cathedral on Wednesday 26th March, where Mass will be celebrated by our Chaplain Canon Hackett. This year we hope to develop the link, via Trocaire, with St Leo’s Secondary School in Lodwar, Kenya, both in terms of fundraising and mutually benefi

Restored to Former Glory

The Bell Tower of the College Chapel has now been restored to its former glory. These works have been ongoing for the past eighteen months. Repairs were needed due to the fact that this section had been significantly weathered over recent years. The area under repair was photographed, modelled and a new section composed of granite manufactured. This new section was constructed on site and the scaffolding came down on Thursday 27th February revealing the renovated t

X Country - A huge week for our athletes

We are drawing closer to the biggest event on the X Country calendar this weekend when hundreds of runners will descend on Cork City for the All Ireland Championships. Cork has been a happy hunting ground for the College in the past with Mr Mussen and his athletes having previously annexed an X Country All Ireland in the Munster city. On that occasion the illustrious names of Patrick and Andrew Monaghan were at the fore. These two celebrated athletes have gone on to receive scholarships for
