S2 pupils Jamie Brannigan and Adam Toner (pictured) are looking forward to a challenging but enjoyable year ahead as S2 pupils. These two young men will complete their GCSE exams at the end of this academic year and here's hoping that these two talented pupils will continue to impress with great results. Today also sees the induction of J2 and S3 pupils. For J2 pupils they must now get used to the added responsibility of having to keep a caring eye on our newly inducted J1's. the J2 pupils

A super evening all round was enjoyed in the ever welcoming Canal Court Hotel by our S4 formal guests. Staff would like to commend all the young men and women for their impeccable behaviour at the annual event. Awards for 'Ed Sheeran lookalike' and 'Best tweet of the year' were amongst some of the funniest moments of the evening. Head Boy Christopher Goss took time to address the large audience in attendance and in doing so thanked a wide range of people who made the event as memorable as it tur

Today J3, S1 and S4 pupil inductions took place at the College. Pupils met their respective Year Heads and were given their stationery for the year ahead. This is always a great time of year in the College, spirits are high and ambition for the year can be seen in the young men. We wish all pupils all the best for the coming year.

Newly ordained Fr Colm Murphy, a past pupil of Violet Hill, was the main celebrant at today's J1 Induction Mass. It was a lovely occasion and those in attendance enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere which our new pupils were met with. Mr McKinney, in his post Mass address, wished all Year 8 pupils the best and urged them to seize every good opportunity that presents itself in a school which offers so much to its pupils.

The entire St. Colman’s College community is very proud of the achievements of the Y12 students in their GCSE examinations. As a result of their determination, hard work and commitment, excellent GCSE results have been achieved by the individual students and the year group as a whole. GCSE & A Level Art students recently took time out to enjoy their artistic endeavours. They were joined by family and staff at the annual exhibition. A range of 2D and 3D work was on display, including Ceramics, Fine Art, Textiles and Digital media. All guests enjoyed the evening viewing the work and celebrating the achievements of the students.

He was delighted to discover that his pen study entitled “Decaying Leaf” had been awarded a special merit award in Category A 16 -18 years.
