Congratulations to our J1 basketball team which was victorious yesterday. It was the first time that a J1 team has brought 1st place honours to the College via this sporting discipline. The team is capatined by Conor Mathers (holding the beautiful shield) and managed by Miss Chambers. It has been a great first year at the College for Conor who also played the lead role in our production of the hit musical 'Oliver!' in November 2013. Conor is also studying hard for his upcoming J1 summer tests. W

Peter Fegan breaks Down Schools' 800m record

Congratulations to J3 pupil Peter Fegan who broke the Down Schools' 800m record yesterday. J2 pupil Eoin Byrne finished a close second. Both qualify for Ulster Schools' 800m Junior Boys' Final in Antrim Forum Saturday week. Mark Friel (S3) has also qualified for the Senior Boys 400m final. Congratulations to these boys and their coaches Mr Mussen and Mr Friel.

St Colman’s College was a host school for the STEM module on Tuesday 29 April. Primary 6 pupils from local primary schools took part in ‘STEM in the World Around Us’ workshop, where they had the opportunity to do a living things study and to make rockets, pupils also utilised iPad technology on the day. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thanks to the staff of the NEELB who delivered the workshop.
