Yesterday's whole school sponsored walk proved to be a wonderful occasion, enjoyed by up to 1000 representatives from Violet Hill. This is the fourth year it has being organised and it proves to be ever more popular as the years progress. The College pupils were absolutely fantastic and got into the charitable spirit of the event despite the slightly indifferent weather. Year 12 GCSE pupils returned from a 2 day intensive trip to the majestic Mourne Mountains on Friday. The pupils, accompanied by PE teachers Mr Mussen, Mr Murray and Mr McMahon, were blessed with beautiful, yet cold, weather. These 26 pupils benefitted from this character building long trek through one of the most well known mountain ranges in Europe. The pupils excelled in performing outdoor skills such as map reading, determining and following bearings, erecting their tents and of course using

Last Wednesday the St Colman’s College Debating Society achieved another resounding success in the inaugural Queen’s University Literific Schools’ Debating Cup. The team, which comprised of S4 students Gavin Fleming and Conor Fegan, accompanied by Mrs Quinn of the History, Government and Politics department, made the journey to Belfast to compete in a series of three debates against schools from across Northern Ireland.

Many thanks to Mr. Jude Mc Cann Production Manager and staff at MJM for welcoming the students to the Carnbane plant. They were given the opportunity to listen to presentations from Project Managers on current contracts ranging from hotel refurbishment to refitting of luxury cruise line
