Gavin Fleming and his parents gathered in the Boardroom today to celebrate the achievements of Gavin Fleming, with particular reference to the Wilkinson Essay Prize success. This afternoon was a great opportunity for all connected with Gavin in the College community, including Gavin's parents, to look back on the great success that Gavin has accomplished.

Lee Morgan continues to star on the Tae-Kwon-Do circuit

Having succeeded at the World Championships in the summer in Coventry, finishing 2nd in his grade amongst over 3000 competitors from 30 different countries, College J1 pupil Lee Morgan continues to perform with aplomb in the Tae-Kwon-Do circuit. Last weekend saw Lee compete in Dublin at the All Ireland Championships, coming away with a gold and silver medal. It is a time consuming and energy sapping pursuit for the J1 pupil but the young Silverbridge native loves every minute of it.

A busy mid term break for many pupils and staff

It was a busy mid term break for many of our pupils and teachers. The cast of Oliver was busy rehearsing for their upcoming performance from 24th to 28th November inclusive. We wish them well as they move into the last few weeks before their performances. It was also a hetic time for our footballers and their coaches who invested many hours last week readying themselves for their upcoming matches. Mr Mc Kinney has written to staff and pupils of the College to thank all those who took part in the staging of Oliver! It was a week that will not be forgotten for many a year as the cast, guided by Mr Mc Daid, Miss Frame and Miss McPeake pulled out the stops on every occcasion to give the packed audiences a show they would remember. A well earned break in store for all this weekend.

On Wednesday 23rd of October the S3 year group took part in the Young Enterprise - Success Skills Programme. The focus of the event was ‘Preparing for the Future’ looking at key skills and competencies such as communication, personal assessment, job applications and interview skills. The boys really enjoyed taking part in this practical skills programme. Maybe sometime in the near future we could have a Violet Hill contestant on the Apprentice!
