A recital of Polish Sacred Music for Lent will take place in the College Chapel on Saturday March 24th at 5.30pm. The recital, organised by S1 student Bartosz Thiede, will include choral music by Surzyński and Zieleński performed by singers from the Schola Cantorum of St Peter’s Cathedral,Belfast. Organ works by Zeleński and Surzyński will be played on the Kenneth Jones organ by Nigel McClintock (organist at St Peter’s Cathedral and director of Schola Cantorum) and Bartosz Thiede. The central work of this Lenten programme however will be the setting of the Bitter Lamentations by Gorzkie Żale sung by Bartosz accompanied by finalyearCollege student James Murphy.
The recital should last approximately one hour, admission is free and all are very welcome.
