VHC pupils make history at Penn Relays
A special group of young men travelled to Philadelphia, USA during their Easter break to participate in the Penn Relays 2019.
The Penn Relays is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, hosted annually since April 21, 1895 by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field.
Miceal McCaul, Eoghan Byrne, Patrick Brooks, Conor O'Carroll, and John Farrelly accompanied their coach Mr Friel to this event for the first time in the history of Violet Hill College.
The boys gave their all and whilst they didn't make the podium they can draw on this experience as being hugely formative in fledgling young lives in Athletics.
