Celebration of McFarland Cup Hurling success.
Paudie Butler, former National Director of Hurling, visited the college on Thursday to present the McFarland cup medals to the winning panel.
Mr Butler complimented the boys on their achievement in becoming the first St. Colman’s team to win an Ulster colleges’ title. He talked about the Michael Cusack link to the college and the significance of this first hurling title. He urged all to redouble their efforts to continue the winning trend and to promote the small ball game remarking, that hurling has a unique and central significance in Irish culture.
Parents, invited guests and players thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of celebration and the boys can be justifiably proud of their Ulster hurling medal.
