Head Prefect encourages P7 boys to consider Violet Hill
My great experiences at Violet Hill College
My name is Dan McCarthy and I attended Tannaghmore P.S in Lurgan. I chose to go to St. Colman’s because of how good the Open Day was. I have a keen interest in sports such as football and hurling and when I saw the sports facilities at the College I was very impressed.
A major reason why I wanted to go to St. Colman’s was because of how my brother described the school and the friends that he met. I travel to the College from Lurgan every day.
As a J1, the best part for me has to be being the first ones out for dinner. I have many fond memories of my time in the College so far, such as; working hard to achieve what I wanted to in my GCSE’s, being apart of the winning MacRory and Rannafast cup teams, playing a role in two winning hurling campaigns, and being appointed as Head Boy.
However, for me, my dearest memories involve those I had with my friends coming from every corner of the two counties, from places I had never heard. I never would’ve met these people had I not gone to the College.
To all the P7 pupils who are not sure about which school they wish to attend to, this school will give you everything that you could want from a school, life-long friends, fantastic teachers and a chance to explore whatever interests you may have.
