Huge week for College choir - Check Out RTÉ Lyric FM this week!
It truly has been a memorable week for the choir of Violet Hill and its many followers. On Saturday, December 8, the choir of St Colman's College took up the invitation from popular Hilltown singer/song-writer Matt McGinn to join him in his Winter Concert in the ‘Town’ Hall, Newry. While a student at St Colman's College, Matt himself was a choir member for seven years.
The concert was packed out and it was a great success. Matt collaborated with other popular acts such as Juliette Turner and Kevin O'Reagan before the College choir took to the Town Hall stage to accompany the past pupil. This teaming up was very well received by the large crowd in attendance.
This concert was our choir's second in a week, having performed in Newry RC Cathedral last week to another packed audience.
To top a phenominal week of action off the choir's sound will be aired tomorrow on RTÉ Lyric FM between 10am and 2pm and on Tuesday of this week. Now in its 14th year, choirs from all corners of Ireland have joined this year's choral music celebration with an abundance of festive good cheer coming from Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny, Wexford, Limerick, Mayo, Cork, Tipperary, Kerry and Wicklow amongst others.
