St Colman's College Principal Mr Mc Kinney was delighted to welcome the recipients of the Clann Cholmáin awards to a afternoon reception in the College. These young men all achieved 3 A grades or better in their A Levels and as a result pick up this prestigious 'Galway Living' award. 15 of the 18 pupils who were presented with the trophy at Monday's Annual Prize Giving attended the College today and were delighted to enjoy each others company in a relaxed and informal setting.

Gavin Fleming, a sixth year student in the college was recently awarded the Dickens fellowship award for his short story, ‘Benjamin Bufford’. It is set in Victorian England and written in the style of Charles Dickens and is about a young boy who is sent out as a mud-lark to scour the river Thamesfor valuable items and witnesses a murder. Last night's Corn na nÓg final was, to use an old cliché, a game of two halves. St Colman's were dominant in the first period but Omagh stole the show in the second half and ran out deserving winners in the finish. Congratulations to Omagh CBS on their victory. An outstanding performance by St Colman's Choir

An audience of almost 200 people attended a concert in Newry RC Cathedral on Sunday evening entitled 'O Magnum Mysterium'. The concert, under the direction of Miss Frame and delivered by the choir of Violet Hill was a perfect reflection of the countless hours of preparation which preceded it. A sincere congratulations to all involved in a most beautiful performance.
