Last Friday (30th March) the College held their now-annual whole school sponsored walk to Newry Cathedral, where mass was celebrated by Bishop John McAreavy with the entire College pupils and staff.The walk, along the towpath and through the town, is to raise proceeds for Trócaire and the town of Ludwar in Kenya.

Congratulations to Yr 12 pupil Conor Wallace who, representing Sacred Heart Boxing Club, Newry, became All-Ireland Champion in the 63Kg division when he won his final bout in Dublin at the weekend. Conor defeated daryl Byrne form the Grangecon club on a points score of 9-8. Well done from everyone in St.Colmans

Congratulations to our Senior Cross Country running team who were crowned Senior Boys All-Ireland Champions on Saturday past when they finished as top school in the All-Ireland Championships race meeting in St.Mary's College Galway. With a combined score of 55 points (lowest score winning the competition, finishing positions 5,9, 19, 22) we finished ahead of St.Malachy's Colege (76) and Clonmel High School (122). On Thursday 1st March past-pupil Cahal Masterson will return to St Colman’s College to perform a recital of music by Chopin & Debussy for S1-S4 music students and all other interested piano students. Cahal is currently a second year piano student at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.
