STEM Module visits Violet Hill
7 March 2013
Mrs Doherty and Year 8 pupils in the College were delighted to welcome the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Module to our school. The big truck, which has been a familiar visitor to 46 Armagh Road, is parked in the hard play area and is a bit hit with our boys. What is STEM? The STEM concept aims to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics as career choices for young people. The STEM Module brings the subjects closer to schools and pupils by all

Pupil profile - Conor Quinn and Stephen Finnegan
6 March 2013
Conor Quinn and Stephen Finnegan are two athletes in the College who are making big 'waves' on the international sailing circuit and we are very proud of their exploits on the open water. The two boys are involved with the Killowen club and have been sailing for years now. This is a sport which is catching on enormously, especially since London 2012 and we expect the two lads to inspire many more in the College to get involved. A report from a recent event which Conor was involved in; 12 sa

MacRory Cup panel falls at penultimate hurdle
2 March 2013
1.10 - 1.11 Our senior footballers gave an honest and hardworking performance in Dunmoyle today in what proved to be a bridge too far for the Violet Hill men. A match which was again characterised by hard hitting and heavy tackles was a great advertisement as the two teams shyed away from unfair or unsporting tactics. The College lads are left wondering what would have been had they been able to close out last week's encounter. Today was a match which was in the most dominated by the Derry side
