Souvenir Jersey presented to Peter

The S4 pupils, who were gathering for the last time as a year group, took the opportunity to present Caretaker Peter Kennedy with a souvenir jersey, to mark his retirement. Pictured with Peter is Micheál Kerr, Deputy Head Prefect, and Mr Murray, Head of PE. Peter will be sorely missed by everyone in the Violet Hill Community. He has given remarkable service to the College.

Congratulations to everyone involved with the S4 Leavers' Celebration today. It was a wonderful event and it was so nice to see all these lads come together for the last time as a year group. The event began in the Assembly Hall with some lovely background music provided by the Traditional Group. Monday May 2nd 2022: @7:30pm The Society will host an online lecture by Martin Goss entitled “St Colman’s College in the 1901 & 1911 National Census” looking at the building and residents of the College in that period. Martin Goss is a former History teacher in St Colman’s and Secretary of the Dromore Diocesan Historical Society Access to the event will be available from 7:20pm with a start at 7:30pm sharp.

The Spring Concert at Violet Hill returned last night to a packed audience of thrilled family and friends. Good luck to the Oisiín McGrath Panel, led by Mr Henry, Mr McLaughlin and Mr McCulla, who will represent the College in the Final this afternoon in Inniskeen. This team has trained exceptionally hard and is enjoying getting back to football having missed so much during the Pandemic. St Patrick's College, Cavan will be tough opponents but this promises to be a mouthwatering tie between two stalwarts of Ulster Schools football.
