Religious Studies Department organises Ash Wednesday service

Students received their ashes today in the College chapel. The Religious Studies Department organised the distribution and got great help from our student teachers. Thanks also to our great Musicians who made the ceremony very fitting to mark the beginning of Lent.

Pupils raise Awareness for Autism

Last week, 285 Year 8 and 9 students fundraised and raised awareness for Autism N.I. by completing 13,000 steps a day from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th March 2022. The J1 and J2 pupils are pictured alongside Year 8 Head Mr Gilmore and Year 9 Head Mr O'Hare. Congraulations everyone.

Thanks to James from Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge, for coming to speak to some of our S3 students. We were delighted to welcome you to Violet Hill College. This opportunity was open to any student who is currently in Y12 (or Y13 in Northern Ireland or S5 in Scotland) interested in pursuing an Arts, Humanities, or Social Science degree, and who is thinking of applying to Oxbridge. Thanks to Head of Careers Mrs Farmer for organising.

VHC Cross Country teams do us proud at All Irelands

As always, our Cross Country athletes did us proud on the All Ireland stage. Both teams finished in 5th place and did the blue Violet Hill singlet a great service. This year's All Ireland Final race was in Mallusk. The team was trained throughout the year by Mr Friel and Mr Henry. We thank them both sincerely for their sterling work.
