There was a warm atmosphere in the College yesterday as AS and A2 pupils picked up their results. It was the first time the boys have been back in the College since they finished their exams and they seemed to enjoy the opportunity to meet their friends and staff alike. We wish all pupils well going forward, especially those pupils who have completed their A2 examinations and now will move to pastures new. 3 time All Ireland Senior Football Championship Winning Manager Mickey Harte attended Campa Chormaic this week in the College in what proved to be one of the many success stories of the Violet Hill based Camp. Last Friday the College community extended a very fond farewell to Carol Ann Cassidy, a long serving member of the Irish and French Departments respectively. Carol Ann started teaching in the College in 1998, amassing 15 years of service. Margaret Mallon, who has worked in the College since the Milenium year, will this summer retire from her duties at 46 Armagh Road. To say that Margaret is a popular member of staff is an understatement and whilst many of the pupils would not know this lady on a personal level she is the reason why all of our kids and staff are blessed with 'spick and span' facilities day in and day out! This summer Year groups 8 - 11 went to various destinations throughout Ireland to celebrate the completion of the academic year. The days out were warmly received by both pupils and staff and definitely served to bring people together in a fun way - the whole reason behind the excursions! The students named below undertook and completed a programme of training in food safety and hygiene with Mrs Matthews. They all passed the assessment and received certificates from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health for a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.
