Parents Association

St Colman's College Parents Association was formed almost 15 years ago and has grown from an original Committee comprising of parents and members of College Staff into a strong and vibrant group within the College community. The overarching aim of the Association is to advance the education of the College students, and this is achieved by enhancing the provision of those educational facilities over and above those funded by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland.

The objectives of the Association include:

  • Fostering more extended relationships between staff, parents, local community and others associated with the College.
  • Engaging in activities which support the College and advance the education of its students.
  • Promoting the College to prospective parents.

The Committee has an on-going line of communication with the College and meets regularly throughout the school Year to plan events, set the calendar and monitor the fundraising budget.

The activity of the Parents Association vary each year in accordance with the College's needs and over the past few years, the commitment and the enthusiasm of the members has led to many successful fundraising events such a Christmas raffles, barbecues and Golf Classics. Members are also available to talk to parents and prospective pupils at Open Days and other College events/occasions.

New members are always very welcome to come along and get involved in the work of the committee. The Parents Association is a tremendous opportunity to meet other parents and become actively involved in the students on-going development both socially and academically.
