S4's enjoy final event as Violet Hill pupils
The S4 pupils enjoyed a memorable leaving event at the College last Friday.
The event began with a Prayer service in the College Chapel organised by the RE Department. Music was organised by Miss Frame and KS5 Coordinator Mr O'Hare began proceedings by formally welcoming all in attendance.
After a lovely prayer service the event moved to the Dining Hall for refreshments and some speeches. Head Prefect Dan McCarthy spoke as did Mr O'Hare and Principal Mr McKinney.
In Dan McCarthy's speech he made special mention of the wide variety of people who had made his and his peers' journey throughout Violet Hill such a success, not least the Dining Hall staff who this year group made a strong connection with. Dan also thanked the teachers, many of whom were present at this event. Deputy Head Prefect Oisín O'Hare also spoke at the podium and presented a number of novel awards to various characters in the year group.
Mr McKinney praised the resilience of the students and wished them all well in the next stage of their lives.
Despite the challenges of the past year there was a really upbeat atmosphere at the leaving event.
Thanks to everyone involved for their work in making this happen.
