Shoe Box Christmas Appeal 2011
St Colman’s College are participating in the Operation Christmas Child Campaign in conjunction with The Samaritan’s Purse International Relief during the month of November.
This campaign is commonly known as ‘The Shoebox appeal’. The gift filled shoeboxes will be distributed to suffering children across Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and parts of Africa.
The gifts will bring these suffering children a lot of joy and happiness this Christmas. Last year all Junior and Senior students participated with commitment and enthusiasm in this campaign with the help and support of their teachers. Students and teachers successfully made over 300 shoeboxes, which was an excellent response.
This year we hope to make an even better response. The closing date for the Shoebox Appeal is Monday the 21st of November. The website address for the shoebox appeal is www.samaritans-purse.org.uk. Promotional leaflets are available from all RE teachers. Filled shoeboxes or items for shoeboxes should be given to your RE teacher or left in the RE store room.
