St Colman's College Pupils Meet Shadow Chancellor
St Colman's College pupils along with student representatives from Our Lady's, Sacred Heart, Newry High and St Paul's met Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls yesterday in the Canal Court.
The event was organised by the Newry Chamber of Commerce.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils and they learned much from the insight the Labour Party Politician gave the young people present.
President Cathal Austin, Newry Chamber of Commerce stated, ‘my Chamber colleagues and I are delighted to be hosting this very important event to celebrate 120 years of Newry Chamber serving the local business community’.
‘Ed Balls is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential political figures in the UK; his commitment to speak in Newry at this event will help profile our City on a national stage and provide use with a unique opportunity to promote our vibrant business community’.
In attendance from Violet Hill were A2 pupils Danny Talbot, Daire Brown and Head Boy Kevin Haughey.
