St Colman's defeated in Saval
The community spirirt so often prevalent in Cumann Lúthchleas Gael was seen in Saval today as hundreds of people dug deep into their pockets to support the Southern Area Hospice and it is thought that over a thousand pounds in cash was donated at the gate.
Members of both St Colman's and St Paul's staff, with the support of Ulster Colleges' Council and Saval GAA asked for financial support at the gate for the very worthy cause.
In the Mc Cormick Cup match which followed St Paul's were dominant almost for the duration of the match and were obviously very fired up for the encounter of the two local schools.
Ex St Colman's pupil Mr John Rafferty had his South Armagh charges firing on all cylinders and no one in Violet Hill could dispute the worthiness of the result, 2.09 - 1.06 to Bessbrook.
