Leaders in Digital Learning

In St. Colman’s College, we continue to innovate and lead in the delivery of digital pedagogy, empowering and preparing our pupils for the world of work. We use technology in the classroom to enhance learning and teaching and deliver an inclusive and accessible curriculum. The technology empowers our teachers to deliver enriching learning activities through an evidenced based and practice led approach. These activities enable students to develop the 21st century skills they need to thrive in a digitally connected world.

For almost 15 years, St. Colman’s College has operated a one-to-one digital device initiative. All J1 (Year 8) pupils are offered a new personal device at the beginning of term one, through the financial agreement. Since introducing this initiative, digital learning has become part of the fabric of everyday life at the College.

In March 2023, St. Colman’s College was awarded the Capita NI Schools ICT Excellence award in the post-primary category. We then followed this up in 2024, with a highly commended award in the category of leadership of teacher professional learning. Concurrently, we are partnering with Microsoft to develop our digital education provision through their Showcase School’s Programme.
