On 30th September in the School Assembly Hall, the Year 8 cohort took part in the Blast Off programme with the Amazing Brains Team. This programme has been designed to captivate, motivate and educate young people about their brain and learning. It aims to create a success-oriented mindset amongst students, boost academic performance and foster a positive, lifelong attitude to learning and guaranteed to reinforce and compliment the work being done by teachers in the school.

In a beautiful presentation ceremony in St Colman's College chapel our newly elected J1 prefect team were photographed receiving their pins. These young men will lead their respective classes through the formative first few weeks in the College and we are very proud of them. Many thanks to Senior Teacher Dr Collins and J1 Year Head Mrs Grant for leading the short presentation celebration.

The annual celebration evening was held in the Whitla Hall at Queen’s University Belfast on 19 September to celebrate another successful completion of the Nuffield Summer Placement. Six Year 14 students from St Colman’s College, Newry were involved this year – Cathal O’Callaghan, Daniel Ward, Tadhg O’Dubhain, Enda McGeown and Michael Fitzpatrick.
