We were delighted to give our Junior students the opportunity to view and hold the coveted Ulster Schools Danske Bank MacRory Cup this week as it made its way to Violet Hill for an historic 20th time. Many of our Junior pupils have relations who won the MacRory with the College down through the years so it was a nice occasion for them.

We enjoyed recreating an iconic photograph with the members of our Ulster Schools Danske Bank MacRory Cup winning panel still studying at the College last Friday in the sun. The original image ‘V for Violet Hill’ was taken of our History Making first Hogan Cup winning team in 1967 also pictured. A massive congratulations to Ultan O’Callaghan and Conor O’Carroll for their outstanding performances at the Ulster and Northern Ireland track and field Championships. Ultan took a massive 8 seconds off his PB when winning the U18 boys 800 in 2.01 with a superb sprint over the last 120m. Ultan also took silver in the 1500M, so a very productive weekend for him. Not to be outdone Conor was also triumphant in these championships taking the win in the 400M also in a PB of 50.62.
